Many Lagosians will agree that some people has employed begging as a means of livelihood, and it's almost impossible to know who is actually sincere and truly in need of help. The quest to make money have made some to implore many deplorable stories just to gain pity and help from the public. A Lagosian on Twitter has shared his own experince at the hands of some beggars who lied to him to get money. According to the man identified as @promiseEbitu, he met a couple three years ago who claimed that their child is in the hospital and needed 75,000 for his treatment.3years ago I met this couples at Ikeja City Mall crying and begging me for alms that their sick baby is dying in the hospital and needed N75,000. I gave out N25,000 being sympathetic about the child. Today I met this same couples again with the same story line. pic.twitter.com/NYvVCb5TEI— ProEbitu® (@PromiseEbitu) May 26, 2018
He continued that he gave the couple 25,000 for the treatment, just to see the same couple after three years, still begging for money with the same story line.
