Another NYSC Cops member died

Late Miss Ifedolapo Oladepo
The family of the late corps member, Ifedolapo Oladepo, who died in Kano NYSC orientation camp on November 29, 2016 has cried out for justice, as they accused the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of conspiracy to pervert the cause of justice.

Speaking with Peter Fabian TV Blog on Monday, the father of the deceased, Mr Wale Oladepo, said the preliminary report of an investigative panel, set up by the presidency indicted NYSC of negligence, which ultimately gave credence to the earlier position of the family on the death of Ifedolapo.
Oladepo explained that the lackadaisical approach of the NYSC management at Kano orientation camp towards his daughter at the initial stage of her ailment, coupled with yet to be known injection administered on her later, which made her fair skin to turn black and her tongue twisted was responsible for her untimely death.
He added that the deceased took bit by bit pictures of her condition from the time she started to react to the said injection up till the time she became unconscious, and eventually died at Gwarzo General Hospital at Kano, where they eventually referred her, after nine hours.
According to him, the Nurse who was with Ifedolapo at the General Hospital confessed to one of the family members that there was no facility at the hospital to manage the late corps member, including Oxygen Concentrator to sustain a dying patient.
Oladepo insisted that the preliminary report of Ali Ahmodu, a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, published in Punch Newspaper of January 2, 2017, which indicted NYSC for being negligent has been swept under the carpet as a result of conspiracy between the agency and other stakeholders who were involved in the case.
He expressed dismay that even an Ad Hoc Committee constituted by the Osun State Government under the Chairmanship of one Mr Aina, who is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishment and Human Resources, has remained silent over the issue, and never consulted him ever since.
“I am quite amazed at the conspiracy of silence that followed the death of my daughter by the NYSC and other stakeholders under the pretext of investigation.
” Thanks to Ali Ahmodu, who came up with his preliminary report in Punch Newspaper of January 2, 2017, as the investigative panel he headed indicts NYSC for negligence, based on the facts he gathered in Kano.
“The report has invariably vindicated us, and also shown that the probe panel is independent and not bias in its investigation.
” Ali Ahmodu later sent one ASP Akin Ogundile down to Osogbo, to get all evidences we have, including a recorded conversation, and photographs.
“It is about two months now after Ogundile came to collect these evidences to substantiate their preliminary report and we are still awaiting their final report amid information making the round that top echelon of the NYSC is making frantic efforts to manipulate the report using money to bribe some individuals, including some sections of the media.
” This is a crime against humanity, it is a dangerous move to subvert justice and allow evil doers to go scot free, this should not be allowed to happen in our society.
“I am calling on the President, General Muhammadu Buhari to step in into the matter as he did at the initial stage, and demand for the final report of the investigative panel.
” Sincerely I am naked and my shadow is threatening to leave me as I have not been able to get justice for my late daughter who was killed out of negligence, ” Oladepo resorted.
