Nigerians who grew up in the early nineties would remember Mount Zion Ministry and their Christian home videos, as well as the stern face of actor, director and evangelist Mike Bamiloye. The 56-year old veteran gospel actor, recently announced the official launch of Mount Zion TV (MZTV), which would be Nigeria’s first Christian Movie Channel. MZTV is expected to officially go on air on Workers Day, 1st May, on fast-growing satellite TV platform CONSAT, run by Continental Broadcasting Service owners of Television Continental and Radio Continental.


Mount Zion Drama Ministry was founded by Mike Bamiloye in August 5, 1985. The Osun-state born minister was trained at Divisional Teachers’ Training College at Ipetumodu where he began his acting career. His debut drama, titled Hell in Conference was staged at the National Christian Teachers Conference in 1986 at Ilesa in Osun State. Mike has been active in the Nigerian movie industry since 1985 till date and has featured, produced and directed several Nigerian films over the years. His works include The Haunting Shadows 1, 2 and 3 and the popular Agbara nla.Mike is married to Gloria Bamiloye, also a Nigerian gospel film actress and evangelist, and they are blessed with three children.

The announcement for the launch of MZTV was made at the just concluded Drama Ministers Power Night, held at Jogor Centre on Friday 11th March, 2016. It was the wrap up event after a 70 Days Prayers and Fasting for the ministry which sent the auditorium into excitement and thanksgiving. According to Mike Bamiloye who together with his wife Gloria are regarded as one of the pioneers of Christian movies in Nigeria, the dream for MZTV has been in the pipeline for a long time now, and is set for viewership. In his words;
“The Lord is providing Nigeria a drama ministry, a great platform to showcase the works of God in our hands.”
