Five celebrities who are in trouble with the law
Below are some Nigerian celebrities who have been charged to court.
1. Femi Branch
Nollywood actor Femi Branch was charged to the Ikeja Magistrate court last year for reportedly issuing a dud cheque to De Santo Hotel in Ikeja. The dud cheque was for N1.5million.
Gist around town was that the famous Yoruba actor stayed in the hotel for months and issued a dud cheque.
When this happened the management of De Santo Hotel went to the police and lodged a complaint. The actor was arrested and charged to Ikeja magistrate court 1 on the 20 of November, 2015.
He was granted a bail of N500,000 due to self-recognition. In the court ruling, Femi Branch was remanded in Kirikiri Prison until he could fulfill his bail condition.
2. Christabel Goddy
The actress was banned for allegedly biting off the skin of Princess Chineke at an hotel room they were sharing.
Nollywood actress, Christabel Goddy, was charged to court after brutally attacking her colleague, Princess Chineke while on a movie set.
According to reports, Christabel was charged to court after she allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer days after she attacked and inflicted physical injuries on her colleague.
3. Ibinabo Fiberesima
St. Maradona Mikevine, AGN treasurer, filed a suit to contest Ibinabo’s election as AGN president last year.
According to Mikevine, the election that ushered in Ibinabo into office was conducted despite a court order restraining the conduct of AGN election.
Meanwhile, Emeka Ike, filed the initial suit on July 25, 2013.
Ibinabo was also sued by the family of Dr Giwa Suraj for reckless driving, resulting in the death of a hospital staff of a Lagos State hospital, Dr Giwa Suraj.
4. Brymo
Ex-Chocolate City singer, Brymo was also banned from being a musician (literally) unless he returns to Chocolate City.
The soul singer was charged to court by Chocolate City preventing him “from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organisation other than Chocolate City pending the determination of the suit against him.”
Brymo left Chocolate City in 2013 after having personal concerns about the direction of his career. After he quit the label, he met up with his producer, Mikky Me, and together they created a new album (Merchants, Dealer & Slaves).
Chocolate City have said on more than one occasion that Brymo’s contract remains valid until 2016.

Iheanacho scores as City wins Manchester derby

Kelechi Iheanacho scored one goal and provided the assist for the other to inspire Manchester City to a 2-1 victory over their United counterpart in an English Premier League tie.
Iheanacho, who was In the lineup for City, headed a pass to Kevin de Bruyne, who perfectly slot the ball pass David De Gea to put the Blue side ahead in the 15th minute.
The Super Eagles forward extended the lead for City in the 36th minute when he took advantage of a rebound off a de Bruyne shot in front of the 75 000 spectators watching in the stadium.

United reduced the deficit three minutes to half time when goalkeeper Claudio Bravo's gaffe gifted Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who's accurate strike hit the back of the net.
Iheanacho was however substituted in the 53rd minutes with Fernando.
It was the first encounter between Guardiola and Mourinho, former El Clasico sparring partners, since 2013 and gave the former Barcelona coach an eighth win in 17 encounters with the ex-Real Madrid manager.
City's win, their 50th in competitive derby matches, saw them end United's perfect start to the season.
It left Guardiola's side and Chelsea, who visit Swansea City on Sunday, as the only teams in the Premier League with 100 percent records.
